Calendar Searching – Feature Update

Calendar Feature

A very quick post to announce the introduction of a very useful feature which will reduce the amount of searching you need to do for a parking space.

Embedded in to our parking space search bar is a little calendar icon which when pressed will display two calendars. Simply choose the desired start date of your booking and the end date (if applicable) and we will only show you spaces that are available.

We expect to have more news and feature announcements over the next couple of weeks.

Rent out your Parking Space through Facebook

Facebook Icon

It has been over a year now since we launched the ParkatmyHouse.com Facebook application
and we have received a significant amount of feedback from many of you with new ideas on the best way to promote your parking space listing.

Thanks to our recently launched design and Facebook changing the way applications are allowed to operate, there is now a really easy way to let all your `Facebook friends` see that you have a parking space available to rent.

As you can see from the image above, you can now promote your Parking Space listing directly on your Facebook profile page. You can also get your friends to promote your space on your behalf. Simply tell them your username and send them to http://apps.facebook.com/parking/promote/.

Please let us know if you have tried out this feature and while you’re at it, please become `a fan` of ParkatmyHouse.com

Thanks,
Your Social Networking ParkatmyHouse.com Team

£25,000 and counting

With most people really starting to feel the bite of the `credit crunch` and having the majority of their money tied up in their property, finding out new ways to make your property work harder for you is essential.

ParkatmyHouse.com is obviously here to do just that and when we first started we had wild ideas of people making around £400 – £500 (~$900) a year from this practice.

However, today on 21st October 2008, one of our users surpassed the £25,000 ($45,000) mark from renting out his spaces over the past 12 months. No longer can renting out your parking space in a high demand location be classed as a small money making scheme. There is a significant amount of money to be made and would help most families during the current financial crisis.

Another milestone we have reached over the past few months was one of our users earning over £1,000 ($1700) in one single evening from renting out his spaces for a Wembley concert.

Please visit the following link for more information on how to rent out your parking space.

TomTom SatNav Support

TomTomWe receive many feature requests of which some we can do quickly, some are great ideas but will take us a while to implement and some shall we say `insane` recommendations.

Fortunately, one of our most frequently requested features was the ability to add parking space locations to a Satellite Navigation system.

Now, once a booking has been confirmed you will be greeted by a very friendly looking Add to Tom Tom button. Simply click on the button to interact with your installed TomTom navigation software.

We hope to add support to other Satellite navigation devices shortly.

Thanks and keep sending us your suggestions and feature requests,
Your GPS enabled ParkatmyHouse.com Team

All the corners of the world

North PoleI can’t believe we are in March already, this time last year we had just over 1,000 people using the site, needless to say we have grown significantly since then and to our knowledge can be proud of having the largest parking space community on the internet.

With big events taking place at Wembley Stadium and Twickenham Rugby Ground in London over the next few weeks we expect to receive countless enquiries for that much sought after driveway. If you have a spare space, please add it now!

On a completely different note, I noticed yesterday that we have a parking space for rent near the airport at the North pole in Alaska.

Thankfully, the space isn’t within the confines of an igloo and from what I can tell by the picture, is safely away from the local and apparently soon to be extinct Polar Bear population.

ParkatmyHouse is really spreading to the different corners of the world. All we need now is someone in Antarctica to post a spot and we can claim complete global coverage!

Sell, sell, sell

Sold

A few days ago we quietly added support for all our users who have a parking space or parking lot they wish to sell. Selling is a completely different kettle of fish from renting and our site works a bit differently in how we connect buyers to you.

Once an enquiry is made, we will pass it on to one of our real estate partners who will arrange all the relevant viewings and act as a mediator to allow the transaction go through as smoothly as possible.

ParkatmyHouse.com charges a 5% success fee which includes all the listing, marketing and real estate agent fees. Please note that this fee is only payable once the transaction has been completed, so as usual, if you don’t make money, we don’t make money.
